9. RAED acts in cooperation and partnership with various international and donor organizations, inter alia:  

• United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).  

• United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the UNEP Regional Office for West Asia (UNEP-ROWA), and the UNEP Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP/MAP).

• Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (PES).

• DANIDA. 

• The African Development Bank (ADB).

• The Mediterranean Information Office (MIO-ECSDE) – Athens.

• The European Union (EU).

• The Embassy of Japan in Egypt.

• The Embassy of the Netherlands in Egypt.

• The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

• The Social Fund for Development (SFD) (Egypt). 

10. The Regional Community on Solid Wastes Management Program, RAED's Secretariat submitted this project proposal to the European Union to be implemented in four poor urban communities in Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia and Morocco. The European Union (EU) has approved the project.  Implementation is expected to begin in the outset of the year 2000.

Future Horizon

1. Undertaking a project to link all members through Internet and e-mail.

2. Holding periodical workshops for organizations, authorities and individuals who are members at RAED, in the member states alternately to discuss the most important environmental issues tabled in the Arab arena.

3. Working on the establishment of national non-governmental umbrellas in several Arab states.

4. Preparing to developed environment libraries in each Arab State.

5. Organizing training courses for Arab NGOs to upgrade and improve their capacities.
